i've got the suzi shield that mounts to both the forks and the bars. steering is just fine. i commute to work on the expressway (so the shield is a real advantage at 65 to 70mph). i'd prolly do the bag supports (they're good for securing the bags) - but i hear they're optional. guess you could just as well tie the bag off on the rear shock. just a caution - i've heard that taking off that rear pillion back support (to install the supports) is a real bi**h and you can scratch up your paint if you're not careful. t..
ps - a note on the shield. i'd very much like to remove it from time to time for certain days and routes (so you might want to look into getting one that has a quick-release option). the one i've got is definitely a pain to put back on.
